Our team of British adventurers will travel to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve in the Peruvian Amazon where we will immerse ourselves in the culture and wildlife of the Amazon jungle. We will be the first to explore the “black waters” of this part of the Amazon River using paddle boards.
Expedition highlights will include paddle boarding circa 260km down the river, from the Derado Lake, wild camping in Hammocks in the Jungle.
We will also have the chance to photograph Pink Dolphins, go Piranha fishing, hunt for Tarantula spiders at night, stay at indigenous villages, camp in the jungle and observe the spectacular wildlife.
The expedition party includes experienced adventurers Neil Laughton and Jon Beswick, plus local river / jungle guides and support boat drivers. and completing the team is Jeff Halls, Ant Brown, Mick Bishop, Giles Fairmann, Mark Newman, Meriel Davis, Chris Oakley, Tony Dunkerly, Maddy Chapman, Kaylem Alavi, Will Fitzgibbon, Maddie Difazio-Wright, Oliver Watkins, & Paul Clarke.
We will be split into two teams of 8, with Neil’s group being the first to complete this journey on single paddle boards, and Jon’s group the first to do the same on two 10man paddle boards. This will be an extraordinarily rich and immersive experience in one of the last truly remote and beautiful parts of the world.
